The Summer League series came to an end Thursday, July 11 with some fiercely competitive wheelchair rugby games. The first game of the night was dominated by the Scull Crushers lead by team captain Tracy Lewis who has stepped up huge in his first team leadership role. The second game of the night was a huge upset of the highly ranked 3rd seed Steamrollers. Unfinished Business had their team name in mind when they impressively won 31-22 over the Steamrollers who won the first match up of these two teams by 11 points in week two. I give Unfinished Business coached by Josiah Sullivan the most improved team award. The final game of the night was a highly anticipated rematch of the two best teams in the league. Their first regular season game came down to the last few seconds and was won by only one point. So we all knew this was going to be a killer game to watch and or play in. Team Rampage coached by Spencer Larimore and The Ballers coached by Willie Bosserman both hit the floor in an intense point for point battle. The Ballers had a two point lead for about 2 minutes otherwise it was tied up most of the game. With the game tied 21-21 Rampage had possession of the ball with 35 seconds left on the clock and they charged down the court to score the final goal! The Summer League was a huge success in getting our sport more recognition in the Treasure Valley. It was a blast! This was by far some of the funnest rugby I've ever played. Thank you all for putting together such competitive teams. Lots of thanks to LeAnn Sullivan, Kent Sullivan, Stuart Larimore, Alyssa Antoniuk, Laura Wheeler, Gail Bosserman, Rebecca Mullikin, and Max Forkner for your help reffing, score keeping, equipment and cooking Hope to see everyone back next year!
